This week’s Top Tune offers further evidence of the special bond and tight harmony shared by friends and fellow-troubadours Tim Easton (Nashville, TN), Leeroy Stagger (Lethbridge, Alberta), and Evan Phillips (Anchorage, AK). Always Came Back to You is the opening track on their new album, Resolution Road which is currently a Top-10 Americana Album in Europe.
ESP reunites this week to celebrate with a string of shows in the beautiful place where much of the critically acclaimed album was recorded:

This week’s Top Tune is one of our faves from Rosanne Cash‘s latest album, The River & the Thread. World of Strange Design was written by Cash and producer/guitarist/arranger John Leventhal and features the great Derek Trucks on slide guitar. The song was fittingly described as “Cash pushing her poetic edge, heading off into deepest mystery, exploring the identity of place, the forces of fate on perhaps the album’s most powerfully affecting track” - Uncut.
The River & the Thread was recently nominated for Album of the Year by the Americana Music Association and also picks up 2014 nominations for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (A Feather’s Not a Bird). Rosanne will headline AmericanaFest NYC on August 9th as part of Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors Summer Festival. The Americana Music Honors & Awards will be held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 17.
Time Magazine says “The River & the Thread paints a beautiful and complex portrait of the American South, seen through the eyes of a prodigal daughter come home”. Rosanne will make her return to Memphis this weekend with a concert at historic Levitt Shell on June 14th.
Look for her return to the West Coast on Oct 2nd at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles and on an Oct 5th performance at San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. For a full list of tour dates click HERE.
