Las Vegas Boulevard was renamed Tony Bennett Boulevard this past weekend in honor of the singing legend’s contribution to establishing Vegas as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World. The ceremony took place on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

Several hotels and casinos dimmed their lights in homage where Tony headlined (he has outlived many of the others!). Bennett was also the guest of honor at Keep Memory Alive‘s 20th annual Power of Love Gala at the MGM Garden which raises funds and awareness for Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Heath and its fight against brain disease including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases, multiple sclerosis and multiple system atrophy. Tony recorded this week’s Top Tune in 1963 for his Columbia Records album, This Is All I Ask. The song was written by his pal Cy Coleman and the great lyricist Carolyn Leigh for the hit Broadway musical comedy Little Me. The set reached #24 on the Billboard Top 200.
