It’s All Happening Now moves through increasingly deviant neighborhoods of a Morricone-influenced cityscape, with the morose flutes of the closing “No Escape” eventually bringing the album full circle. An accomplished dawn-to-dusk vision of urban living” – Kingsley Marshall - Allmusic

This week’s Top Tune comes from British Hip-Hop producer & underground guru, Lewis Parker and his stellar 2002 album, It’s All Happening Now. Parker’s soulful interpolation of Bobby Hebb’s “Sunny” by Andy Williams on this track was such a sweet call.

Lewis Parker was originally snapped up by Massive Attack‘s subsidiary Melankolic, and his first LP, Masquerades & Silhouettes in 1998 turned heads which led to collaborations with UK Hip-Hop artists such as Jehst, The Sundragon, and Champions of Nature.

In 2003 Lewis shipped his vast record collection to New York where new collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Planet Asia, EastKoast, T.R.A.C, and many others took place. Parker eventually linked up for many impressive thematic albums with The World of Dusty Vinyl including the acclaimed Puzzle series. You can check out the latest from Parker HERE.
