The Rhythm Of Life is a powerful beat
Puts a tingle in your fingers and a tingle in your feet

One of our favorite tunes around the Notable offices, “The Rhythm of Life,” is classic Cy Coleman Broadway. An undeniably happy beat drives this tune that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Written by Coleman and Dorothy Fields for the 1966 hit Broadway musical Sweet Charity, a show that reinvented Broadway, remains one of musical theatre’s most revered classics.

The tune’s iconic 1969 performance was by none other than Sammy Davis Jr. for Charity’s film adaptation. A couple of years later soulful versions by the likes of Motown royalty Diana Ross & the Supremes and The Temptations would hit the airwaves, exposing this classic to a whole new audience.

This week we give you Joe Stilgoe‘s stellar performance from his new album Songs on Film: The Sequel. Flip your wings and fly to Daddy!
