We’re more than a little stoked to announce Skating Polly‘s new lp The Make It All Show is coming May 4th via El Camino Media, y’all! The album is the culmination of an extremely busy 2017 in which the band played over 100 shows including major festivals like Riot Fest & The Capitol Hill Block Party, a tour of the UK/EU with Kate Nash, plus a reunion with Exene Cervenka for two separate legs of X’s 40th anniversary tour.
Speaking of Cervenka, the punk rock legend also co-wrote this week’s top tune with the band, a song that sees the trio stretching out both musically and lyrically. Both the song and its accompanying VIDEO play out the obviously negative aspects of a competition that’s based on who can represent the most traditionally feminine image. They extrapolate from the ’40s and ’50s game show mindset to show how those elements are sadly all too applicable today. For the new album the group once again tempted up with producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Sunny Day Real Estate) and sets a new high mark in this young band’s recording career!
